Eelgrass Transplant

The eelgrass transplant at the Lagoon was conducted on September 26, 29, 20 and October 1 and 2, 1997. Eelgrass was salvaged from Crown Point Shores in Mission Bay near the Northern Wildlife Preserve, Agua Hedionda, and at Glorietta Bay in San Diego Bay. Fourteen plots were established in the west, central, and east basin. Each plot consisted of 1 block (25 plants planted at 3 foot centers) from each of the three donor sites, for a total of 75 plants per plot. The three blocks within each plot were separated by 3 meters and the location of each treatment (donor site) within each plot was randomized.
