Orange County Coastkeeper began its four year
restoration
project in upper Newport Bay by planting
50 square meters of
eelgrass. In addition to habitat
restoration, the project will engage the public on the
ecological and economic benefits of eelgrass.

dollars to restore the Ballona Wetlands, one of the last wetland
habitats in Southern California. While only a quarter of
the wetlands still exist, the
proposed project aims to improve their function for both
wildlife and recreation.
